Yves Saint Laurent
Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) became the first Couture house to launch, in 1966, a modern take on luxury ready-to-wear: the « Rive Gauche » collection – making it one of the most prominent fashion labels of the late 20th century. Rive Gauche boutiques soon opened around the world, with YSL’s coveted designs now readily available to fashion conscious individuals everywhere. It was a first step in making luxury labels more widely and publicly accessible.
Today, YSL has 63 stores, including flagship locations in Paris, New York, London, Milan, Hong Kong and Tokyo. YSL Couture continues to bring us groundbreaking fashion, particularly in menswear, with designs made for men who prefer a nonconformist look and assert the different facets of their personalities in a modern and sensitive way.
